Changes
After
the girls return from Thanksgiving Break, they will have new teachers for
reading and math. This rotation allows
the girls to be taught by each teacher during the course of the school year.

Thanks to all
of the Parent volunteers! The girls had
a great time. Who knew bobbing for
apples was going to be such a hit?
Uniforms
If you are one
of the remaining souls who is still waiting for uniform parts, the end is in
sight…. Jean Brune has renegotiated the
contract with EAssociates. They will
only hold exclusivity on the jumper, skirt and shorts from now on. The school is working on finding shirts of
good quality that are also of equal or better price (EAssociates actually have
the lowest price when one factors in the logo).
Bear Essentials has school shirts for sale if you need them and haven’t
received your order yet (be sure to cancel your order with EAssociates first).
Crisis Management
Keep a look-out
for a letter from Jean Brune detailing the new policies and procedures of the
school in the event of tornado, air raid and other emergencies. She will explain the protocol for parents
removing their children from the school.
There will also be a new bell sound for the girls to respond to in
emergency situations. Teachers and staff will be using electronic badges to
gain access to the school, thus maintaining tighter security.

And Now For Some
Unpleasant Business….
New parents in
the Kindergarten and Pre-First have made some serious observations. Apparently, our carpool manners aren’t what
they should be. Keep in mind these
people are usually the first in line and have been sitting in line from
1. our
driving up around
2. our
driving past the carpool lane, pulling in front of the lead car and waiting for
our child.
3. our
poor example to our children of patience and acceptable behavior while waiting
in line.
A number of these parents have been writing down the make
and tag number of vehicles as well as descriptions of the offending
drivers. They are very serious about
their grievances.
If something in
the above paragraph describes your behavior, please adjust your carpool
style. There are usually parking spaces
on Deepdene and Roland (below the bridge) at carpool time if you must walk into
school.
