Review: Salisbury, MD 2001

WOW!! What a great show!! And thanks to Tony for the extra tickets so the whole family could go. My six year old Rachel got to give Alan a dozen purple roses at the beginning of the show. Show was wonderful. He opened this time with "I Don't Even Know Your Name". It was during this song that Rachel got to give him the flowers. At first the security had told us we would only be able to wait at the stage for about five seconds and if Alan didn't come over we were to just leave the flowers on the stage. But just before the show started, Tony came over to the side of the stage and chatted with us for a few minutes and gave me a hug. Next thing we knew we were allowed to stand by the side of stage for the whole first song. When Alan finally walked over to our side I believe at first he could only see the flowers waving at him. When he got over to us (I was holding Rachel way above my head), he looked down and saw her in her beautiful dress with the flowers and gave her the biggest, most sincere smile I have ever seen on his face. She smiled right back at him. The smile on his face and the smile back on hers was a memory that will forever live in my mind. Like one of those "kodak" moments. (Of course the camera we had borowed had an automatic shutoff after 5 minutes and decided to turn off at exactly that point so Paul couldn't get the pic, but that pic was snapped in my mind and will always be there for me).
Alan sang his normal songs, but in the middle had an incredible medley of about 12 songs you don't get to hear very often anymore. Some included Song for the Life,
Chasin' That Neon Rainbow, Home, I'll Try, There Goes,Little Man, Love's Got A Hold on You. It was really great to hear these songs again. Overall we had a fantastic time. Now I need to figure a way to get up to Wilkes Barre so I can hear it all again!
